Nintendo in Japan has issued a health warning over the new DS. A new 3D function for an upcoming gaming console.
It’s a new generation DS console which allows users to view 3D without special glasses. Nintendo recommends that children 6 years and under not use the 3D function because “watching 3D images for a long time could negatively affect the development of their eyes.” It was also noted that some people feel more tired when playing 3D games.
Experts say that 3D images like the Nintendo 3DS, cinemas, and TV could affect the development of vision in small children. Sony with the PlayStation Move System has 3D glasses to play 3D games also.
The 3DS gaming gadget features the two DS screens, with the upper screen providing 3D images and the lower controlled by touch with a stylus. The depth can be increased or decreased so that the games can be played in 2D as well as 3D. It also features parental controls so that children 6 and under can play only in 2D. The 3DS will be released on February 26 in Japan and in March in the US, Australia, and Europe.
